What is Metaverse? How to Invest in Metaverse?

Own and Invest in Metaverse, What is Metaverse?

Introduction:

You might have heard the word Metaverse. It is getting quite a traction nowadays.

Basically, Meta is a Greek word that means “beyond” and “verse” is something like the universe.

So, metaverse means beyond universe or something like digital universe which is beyond reality, outside the reality into the “digital space”.

So, let’s get into the metaverse. Shall we?

What is Metaverse?

Have you played the game “Minecraft”? It’s where you mine and craft. similarly, in the metaverse, which means, beyond the universe, you can do virtually anything. There’s literally no limit to your digital universe.

You can play games with your friends, do work with colleagues, interact with family and friends, basically anything that you do at present, you can do it all virtually in your own created space or environment and as per your liking.

Here, you’ll represent an avatar and so does others. The applicability of this tech is unlimited.

With metaverse, we’ll have a great number of content creators or in this case, developers and then the others who use the created content. When I say content, I mean the theme, it’s the environment.

For example, your phone has a theme right? A developer created a theme, you downloaded it to your phone that gave a different look to your phone. similarly, there’ll be creators of the digital universe.

And, by just putting on the Artificial Reality glass and Virtual Reality Headset, you enter this metaverse.

Origin of Metaverse?

Neal Stephenson and his dystopian cyberpunk novel Snow Crash are credited with coining the term “metaverse.”

The novel was published in 1992 and, along with William Gibson’s Neuromancer, which envisions a virtual reality dataspace called the matrix, is regarded as a canon of the genre.

Snow Crash’s metaverse is a three-dimensional virtual reality realm accessed by personal terminals and virtual reality goggles that have a strong resemblance to the Oculus Quest and other virtual reality headsets.

If Stephenson’s vision of the metaverse seems familiar, it’s because many of its qualities are shared by massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs, or more often, MMOs). For example, users can personalize realistic avatars, interact with other players, create virtual things, own virtual property, and exchange goods and services in Second Life (launched in 2003).

Virtual worlds such as Second Life might be thought of as proto-metaverses. Why is there a prefix? Because they are self-contained, each is a virtual island whose inhabitants and virtual assets never leave. Mark Zuckerberg’s metaverse is not some grandiose virtual experience; it is the next generation of the internet.

“We’ve progressed from the desktop to the web to the smartphone; from text to images to video.” However, this is not the end, “Zuckerberg says in a new letter to his staff. “The next platform will be even more immersive—and embodied internet in which you participate in the experience rather than simply observe it.” This is what we refer to as the metaverse, and it will affect every product we make.”

Applicability of Metaverse?

Now just imagine what all you can do if you have your own universe.

You’ll have virtual space and multiple screens, all interconnected, visible for you at one glance. Our workspace will improve drastically, it’ll be more interactive, and Work from home will be a new norm.

Apparently, You can also interact with your Yoga instructor virtually.

To its users, this three-dimensional realm appears to be an urban setting developed along a single hundred-meter-wide street, called the Street.

The street, like every other location, in reality, is subject to development. Developers can create their own side streets that connect to the main one.

They (Developers) can construct buildings, parks, and signs, as well as construct things that do not exist in reality, such as massive hovering overhead light shows, unique neighborhoods where the laws of three-dimensional spacetime are ignored, and free-combat zones where people can go to kill one another.

Not just that.

The way I see it, our Entertainment industry will also have a revolutionary change. I don’t mean just the production end, the way we watch movies and series will also change. We’ll also have a different schooling system altogether. And, when it comes to gaming, Imagine GTA V with you entering the gameplay as a character.

Chatting & playing games with friends will be much more fun!

Metaverse Technology:

Metaverse will use virtual and augmented reality, web 3.0, and blockchain.

The technology is an Open Source Metaverse Project (OSMP), and since Facebook aka “Meta” has been too expressive in their marketing, people believe that it’s the only platform. Which is far from true.

Metaverse is an Open-source.

Open source in the sense, anyone can contribute and participate. To contribute, you need to be a developer, and to participate you need to have your own gadgets such as Artificial Reality glass and Virtual Reality Headset, and others.

Metaverse and NFT:

NFTs in real estate is a relatively new concept, and you are not alone if you are having difficulty grasping the concept. In a nutshell, the metaverse is a virtual universe that exists in multiple instances. For instance, Facebook aspires to be the largest. Earlier this year, the IT company changed its name to Meta.

Today, users can access computer-generated worlds via virtual reality headsets or smart glasses, where they can play games or walk through fictitious, computer-generated forests.

While Meta Residence is the most recent addition to The Sandbox, other NFT fans, like Snoop Dogg, have purchased property here.

Additionally, you can attend his metaverse events and gain access to his private NFTs. The Sandbox’s additional assets include conference rooms, commercial spaces, art galleries, hangout locations, and other residences. Additionally, the ecosystem is powered by its own native coin, SAND.

How to Invest in Metaverse?
